Artificial bait trips on Lake Toho are something I specialize in. Being a Lake Toho Bass Fishing Guide and Pro Tournament angler, I take a lot of pride in my ability to be able to put anglers of every skill level on bass using artificial baits. Having fished Central Florida waters for over 20 years now I have in a sense become one with the bass. Working baits ranging from Gitem Warlocks to big massive swim baits, from summer fishing patterns to bass bedding season, nothing is more satisfying than catching bass the old fashioned way, using artificial baits.

Back in the day it used to be everyone was tossing what we call the “old go to bait” which was the motor oil worm or the black worm. Now we have every color bait on the spectrum to choose from, which to a beginner can become very confusing and even frustrating, sometimes to the point where a future angler would even give up.

Artificial bait trips can and will incorporate several different techniques ranging from the typical Texas rigged baits, Carolina rigging, drop shot, and even what we call the “double drop” which can be a very exciting  way to fish. Working wide open water in the middle of the lake, to flipping grass mats, or skipping under docks.

With several different bodies of water in our area, ranging from the Pristine waters of Butler Chain, which can fish a lot like northern waters, with its deep drop off, to the World Famous Lake Toho where records have been broken in B.A.S.S. Tournaments, like the record Pro angler Dean Rojas set when he demolished the one-day record by nearly 11 pounds with a 5 bass limit of 45.2 pounds.

Florida is well known as The Bass Capital of the world, and on any given cast, at any time of the year, that big gal could take your bait, giving you that dream bass, the 10 pounder, that many dream about.
